The Tour de Belleville professional cycling event.

With a street fair, walk, rides, food and music.

The Belleville Recreation Department and Premiere Cycling Promotions are bringing back a professional cycling event to Belleville after a 30 year absence. The fair and start/finish line is on the corner of Mill Street and Union Avenue.

The event will feature a professional cycling race, with participants from all over the country competing for the Tour de Belleville championship.

Children’s rides, festival, refreshments, plus a two mile fun walk through the beautiful cherry blossoms of Branch Brook Park.

The amateur races run from 9:00 A.M.  to 11:00 A.M. We plan a citizen race prior to the start of the pro event which goes off at 11:30 A.M. finishing at 1:30 P.M. The fair will run until 4:00 P.M.

The walk through the park is free. Donations will be accepted by the Branch Brook Park Alliance.

To sign up for the amateur cycling race or for more information, call 732-687-7730 or visit the website www.premierecycling.net

Belleville Supports Planet Aid

The Township of Belleville and Planet Aid, Inc. have recently joined forces to initiate an on-call system for the recycling of textiles. Citizens of Belleville who have textiles to be recycled can call Planet Aid’s New Jersey district office and a truck or van will be expedited right away to pick them up at no charge. This convenient service will therefore reduce the amount of reusable textiles entering the waste stream.

In this vain, Planet Aid wishes to thank Mayor Raymond Kimble and the town council for allowing us to service the fine Township of Belleville. We appreciate the opportunity and look forward to a long and prosperous partnership together.   For more information click here.
